Do you have a bit of spare time on your hands….? Looking for something to do while the kids are at school….? Want to meet more people and make new friends….? If you own a car, you can do something really worthwhile for your community… expenses paid, with training.  The biggest single factor affecting quality of life for elderly and disabled people is not being able to get around.  By becoming a voluntary driver with Community  Transport South Wilts, you can make a real difference to their lives, simply by taking them to day centres, doctors’ appointments, hospital visits, to see a friend or pursue activities and interests of their choice… at times that suit you. If you are interested in becoming a voluntary driver in the Salisbury area,  please call Mrs Niolene Coldridge on 01722 410123 between 9am and 12 noon, or leave a message. We look forward to hearing from you! Would you like to be part of the team responsible for allocating our grants? The Foundation is seeking new volunteers to sit on our grant panels. These are teams of people from all walks of Wiltshire life who meet twice a year to discuss and decide which applications will be successful.  This is an important role because there are always more eligible applications than funds available. Our grant team assess each application to ensure it is eligible and the results are presented to the independent panel who sit to discuss and ultimately allocate the available funds. Current panel members consist of trustees, donors, charitable organisations and  people from all walks of Wiltshire life. The role requires internet access you will receive induction training. Panel members usually sit for 3 years and you may be invited to continue for another term. This is a really great opportunity to get involved with an organisation making a real difference to the lives of many people across the county, as well as making new friends and sharing skills and connections.   Alison Radevsky, trustee  and Grant Panel Chair who has been involved with the Foundation for about 3 years says :  "I really enjoy being part of a team which can help make sure that the work of some wonderful grassroots community groups and charities can continue.  It gives me great satisfaction to be able to apply my skills, my life experience and my knowledge of the area in a really constructive way." If you have a genuine interest in helping local communities and would like to get involved, we look forward to hearing from you. Please call Heidi Yorke, Programme Director on 01380 729284
